John Breese studied classical guitar with Vincent Lindsey-Clark at Southampton University where he achieved the highest distinction mark in his year for performance at Masters level. In 2011 he was awarded the St Michael’s Church Scholarship in Southampton. Since graduating, John maintains a busy schedule performing not only guitar recitals but touring internationally as a member of various bands on banjo and double bass. John’s guitar repertoire explores the more traditional concert pieces as well as lesser known contemporary (but enjoyable!) works.

Playing to a large audience in Bristol Cathedral, John Breese captivated with his elegant and stylish music-making, blending the familiar with the contemporary. His own enjoyment was shared by all who heard him, and we look forward to a return visit in the not too distant future” Mark Lee, Master of the Choristers & Organist at Bristol Cathedral

“John was an excellent addition to our TSB Birmingham Branch Launch, easy to work with and played beautiful music that added a great ambience to the whole event.  It was a pleasure to have him at our new branch opening.”  Michelle Jones, Bank Manager

John is an experienced guitar teacher and performer based in Bath. An important aspect of his Masters degree in classical guitar was recognising the significance of individually styled tuition in order to inspire and motivate students. He welcomes all ages and abilities, offering a carefully structured course, providing the opportunity for students to prepare for and enter exams. John has a broad knowledge of contemporary and traditional repertoire to enhance learning. John has consistently achieved distinction for all his guitar exams up to and including performance at masters degree level.

I think he’s doing a wonderful job in his playing and in only a year… His pieces sound really complex and he’s managing to keep with it. He really enjoys his lessons with you as you have exactly the right touch with him so thank you for all your efforts” Helen, mother of a current guitar student
